Dr. Hugh Thompson is a leading force in the information security industry. He has co-authored four books, written more than 80 academic and industrial publications on security, has been a contributor to The New York Times, and has been interviewed by top news organizations including the BBC, CNN, NPR, Financial Times, Washington Post, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and others. He has more than a decade of experience creating methodologies that help organizations build demonstrably more secure systems. He joined Blue Coat in 2012 and leads the researchers and architects in the Office of the CTO and is also responsible for aspects of marketing as the company’s CMO.
In 2006, Dr. Thompson was named one of the “Top 5 Most Influential Thinkers in IT Security” by SC Magazine and has, for the past several years, served as the program committee chairman for RSA Conference, guiding the technical content for the world’s largest information security gathering. He previously sat on the Editorial Board of IEEE Security and Privacy Magazine, and served as an adjunct professor at Columbia University in New York for many years.
Dr. Thompson holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the Florida Institute of Technology.

He is currently Chairman at ElevenPaths, a Telefónica subsidiary focused on innovation in security products through proprietary developments and alliances with the leading manufacturers and organizations in the industry.
He previously ran Informática 64, a computer security and training company, for 14 years. He holds a doctorate in Computer Security from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid. He graduated as a Computer Engineer at URJC and holds a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Polytechnic University in Madrid, which also appointed him as Honorary Ambassador for the University’s Computer Science campus in 2012.
Pedro Pablo Pérez has been working in the IT security industry for more than 15 years. He’s participated in the deployment of global security operation centers in Spain, Latin America and USA. He has defined the new cybersecurity portfolio and leads innovation security proposition for Telefonica´s internal and external customers. In the last three years, he has defined, designed, deployed and sold the Telefónica Security Portfolio across 15 countries and 3 continents.
Degree in Computer Science and Global MBA in IESE. Additionally he holds many security certifications like CISA, CISM, ITIL Service Manager, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, etc.

Francisco Ginel is Director of B2B Security Products & Services in the new Telefonica's Global Services organization. He lead the Security Business Area for Corporate clients at Telefónica Spain during the period 2007-2010, before that Francisco held different positions, always related. He joined the Telefónica Group in 2000 as General Manager of ACE, a niche security company belonging to Telefónica Data.
Before joining Telefónica he worked as Risk Management & Security Director at Visa International global headquarters in Foster City CA, USA.
Francisco is a Philologist specialized in Italian Literature by Universidad Complutense in Madrid and holds a Master Degree in Marketing and Commercial Management from ESIC.
Alberto has spent 15 years working in the security field at various companies such as Sun Microsystems and Optenet. He has held various positions in the areas of pre-sales, project management and business development which has allowed him to fully understand customers' needs from different angles. He has always worked with the international market and spent three years in the US where he developed projects for the domestic market.
He joined Telefónica in 2011 to head up the security services for consumers and in 2016 assumed responsibility for cybersecurity services for the Corporate world and SMEs.
Alberto graduated from the Comillas Pontifical University (I.C.A.I.) with a degree in IT Engineering and also holds an MBA from IEDE and an Executive Masters in Digital Business from ESADE.
His main mission is to ensure that consumers and companies alike understand and take advantage of the benefits offered by the digital revolution, and that they are familiar with digital risks and have all the necessary tools to them.
